LEAD YOUR BUSINESS
TO GREATNESS

Jim Collins asks the simple question, Why do some companies thrive in uncertainty, even chaos, and others do not? When buffeted by tumultuous events, when hit by big, fast-moving forces that we can neither predict nor control, what distinguishes those who perform exceptionally well from those who underperform or worse?

We live in a world where we can no longer predict with certainty the twists and turns our lives will take.

Throughout the world, technological change and global competition continues their relentless, disruptive march. Life is uncertain, the future unknown.

Yet some companies and leaders navigate this type of world exceptionally well. They don’t merely react; they create. They don’t merely survive; they prevail. They don’t merely succeed; they thrive. They build great enterprises that can endure.

Jim Collins, best-selling author of business classics Built to Last, Good to Great, How The Mighty Fall and Great by Choice, will present a powerful half-day seminar on what it takes to build an enduring GREAT company.

In this session, Collins will bring together over 25 years of research, writing and thinking designed for executives and leadership teams of growing organisations wanting to engage and apply his full body of work.

Collins will take you through the behaviours and characteristics of companies and leadership teams that achieve spectacular results, especially when direct comparisons — companies operating in the same fast-moving, unpredictable, and tumultuous environments — do not.

The program will draw upon a highly effective framework developed by Collins that will serve as a mechanism of disciplined thought and action for you and your leadership team to lead your business to greatness!

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to be part of Collins’ first live solo presentation in London.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This outstanding half-day program is designed for senior executives, management teams and team leaders looking to fuel growth and create certainty in their companies by investing in and developing their next generation of leaders.

If you are an aspiring leader looking to make a difference in business; if you contribute to the strategic direction of your business division; if you want to help build a culture of creativity and innovation; learn how to get buy-in from your stakeholders; if you want to build a cohesive team and be more effective in execution, then this is the event for you.

ABOUT JIM COLLINS

Jim Collins is a student and teacher of leadership and what makes great companies tick.

JCIllo3

Having invested a quarter century of research into the topic, he has authored or co-authored six books that have sold in total more than ten million copies worldwide. They include: GOOD TO GREAT, the #1 bestseller, which examines why some companies and leaders make the leap to superior results, along with its companion work GOOD TO GREAT AND THE SOCIAL SECTORS; the enduring classic BUILT TO LAST, which explores how some leaders build companies that remain visionary for generations; HOW THE MIGHTY FALL, which delves into how once-great companies can self-destruct; and most recently, GREAT BY CHOICE, which is about thriving in chaos – why some do, and others don’t – and the leadership behaviours needed in a world beset by turbulence, disruption, uncertainty, and dramatic change.

Driven by a relentless curiosity, Jim began his research and teaching career on the faculty at Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he received the Distinguished Teaching Award in 1992. In 1995, he founded a management laboratory in Boulder, Colorado, where he conducts research and engages in Socratic dialogue with CEOs and senior leadership teams. In addition to his work in the business sector, Jim has passion for learning and teaching in the social sectors, including education, healthcare, government, faith-based organizations, social ventures, and cause-driven non-profits. In 2012 and 2013, he had the honour to serve a two-year appointment as the Class of 1951 Chair for the Study of Leadership at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematical sciences and an MBA from Stanford University, and honorary doctoral degrees from the University of Colorado and the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.

He is an avid rock climber, with one-day ascents of the north face of Half Dome and the 3,000-foot south face of El Capitan in Yosemite Valley.
